Did you know that almonds make you feel full for longer?

A study conducted at Purdue University in Indiana has confirmed that almonds have a positive effect on regulating appetite. For a period of four weeks, participants in the trial consumed roasted, slightly salted almonds each day, but received no further instructions on how to compose their meals. They were permitted to eat the almonds in addition to their normal diet. It was shown that although the almonds amounted to a daily portion of 250 calories, the participants' overall calorie intake did not increase. The trial participants reported that their appetite decreased after consuming the almonds and that their dietary habits had thus changed. Thus, if you tend to get hungry between meals, almonds are the ideal snack.
