Walnut macaroons
Ingredients
- 10 egg whites
- 500 g icing sugar
- 450 g chopped or ground walnuts
Preparation:
1. Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff
2. Gradually sprinkle in the icing sugar
3. Stir the mixture in a bain-marie for approx. 15-20 minutes until a firm consistency is achieved
4. Fold in chopped or ground walnuts
5. Using an icing bag or two spoons, distribute small portions of the mixture on a baking tray lined with baking paper
6. Bake the macaroons for around 60 minutes at 120 °C (convection oven)
